About

I’m from Pretoria, South Africa. Mother, wife, sister and friend. Technophile – a techno-granny if you wish.  3 children, 2 sons-in-law, 5 grandchildren, all of whom I adore more than my life itself. They are my reward for growing my children.

The blog started off in 2007/8 as a journal of my recovery from back surgery. Beginning on the South African media 24 platform and moved across within 24, from General, to Health and then to Women24. (It has since changed direction and covers life, health issues, household hints, tips and tricks I’ve learned through the years and even recipes or food dishes that have become ‘keepers’.) I moved the blog platform over to WordPress but haven’t had time to ‘copy’ everything over, so there are a few 100 posts still to be found on http://blogs.women24.com/dinxspinal/

An Optometrist (feels as thought that was in a previous life); a schools’ computer teacher; a decoupage and tole and decorative painter, crafter and teacher among a myriad more. A jill of all trades and master of none? Maybe. Actually I am a master of a few… have to admit! :)

My daughters and grandchildren live on the West Coast in N. California – I miss them terribly, but try to travel annually to visit with them.

Hi, welcome back and take your time … you did not just cross continents but mental barriers as well ;-)

  10. Been following some of Nicci’s delightful blog writings… and that led me to d1nx’s… and a reminder of waybackwhen getting the Carmeli done: thanks again, you were a star!

Hello darlin’ Andre… so nice to see you. I’ve been a bad blogger of late (much too long in fact). So happy ‘Mr B’ commented here though, it forced me to update my ‘about’ page a little. As hectic as it was in the days of the Carmeli – I actually loved it. I miss those times, but have no regrets that I’m older… and wiser. Enjoy your Sunday – we have ANOTHER public holiday on Monday. So irritating. xxx
